This week we’re venturing up north for our blog post to York. Amongst the cheap pints and Yorkshire puddings, you can find the beautiful York castle and Bettys cafe. Just two of many Yorkshire gems.

The Shambles: Believed to be the inspiration for Harry Potter’s famous Diagon Alley, The Shambles is a must-see destination for Harry Potter fans and muggles alike. Amongst the crowded and crooked streets, you will find tea shops and bakeries galore.

York Minster: This beautiful building built in the medieval times is truly a sight to see. Even if you don’t wish to worship, this place has so much to offer in terms of architecture and history

Bettys: How can you visit York and not take a trip to Betty’s? A four generational family business turned Northern icon, Betty’s serves pretty much the best afternoon tea there is. Stop by for a pot of tea (or two) and treat yourself to a freshly baked scone or pastry.

The York Roast Co: Offering both vegetarian and gluten-free options, the York roast co. is the place to go to grab yourself a quick roast. The infamous Yorkshire pudding wrap is said to be heavenly. Again this place is a family run business that has been established since 2004

The Golden Fleece: Said to be the most haunted pub in York, the Golden Fleece is the perfect place to grab a drink. Why not grab a pint with their resident skeleton before heading out to explore the town
