What better way to spend a rainy weekend than exploring London? Here is a guide to spending a rainy day in Westminster…

Take a stroll next to the River Thames: There’s nothing more typically British than taking a stroll along the River Thames, (most probably in the rain), and admiring the view of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Bridge, and the London Eye.

St. Christopher's place: Located just off Oxford Street, St. Christophers place is a small quarter filled with independent boutiques and restaurants. It’s deep purple and the bright yellow sign makes it unmissable. Amongst the bustle of independent shops lie a few high street favorites such as Whistles and Rituals. This place is a great place to Christmas shop and may be just a little bit quieter than Oxford Street.

5th View: Claimed to be the best cocktail bar in Westminster, 5th View is located on the rooftop of a beautiful art deco building in the heart of the city. Surprisingly, prices aren’t too steep (by London standards) with a Cosmopolitan coming in at just under £8.50. Head to this spot for a beautiful view and a drink or two.

Within the City of Westminster lie a variety of famous galleries including The National Portrait Gallery and The National Gallery. These two galleries are a fail-safe for a rainy weekend and can provide hours of entertainment. Not only is the art beautiful but the architecture is incredible. There are plenty of activities if you have kids with you too so there’s no need to worry about that!
