Utilising lockdown ✅
1. Learn to walk in high heels
'It doesn't just lengthen legs, increase height and tighten calves & thighs; it also has a direct & positive psychological effect, turning you into Super-You.'
When we wear heels our inclination is to walk with our neck & bottom stuck out and legs splayed - this should be avoided. Instead, push hips forward and pull shoulders back. Putting one foot in front of the other ensures the catwalk slink; hips naturally flow in a figure of eight. Avoid dragging the feet; land ball first then heel. This will also give a better hold upon different terrains.
Bring back the heel we say!
2. Cook a new recipe
If you can't travel to a new city or even your favourite restaurant; now is the time to practise it at home. Maybe you have a craving for Thai food, Goulash or Sushi?
Time to put your chef's hat on and create something wonderful. After all food does warm the soul.
Some popular lockdown recipes include:
- Cinnamon rolls
- Banana bread
- Palm Heart Fettucine Carbonara
- Shakshuka
- Churros
- Scones
- Chicken Paprika
If preferred, now is a good time to sign up and make the most of Hello Fresh or Gusto.
3. Get reading
We usually save our reading for holidays and holidays only. Whenever I get reading on holiday I always say to myself that I should be doing this weekly and not just on holiday!
Now is the chance when you have an hour free each day to open up a book. (Who would have thought that Netflix & Instagram can actually get boring.)
4. Exercise
Maybe a daily stroll is enough, an online yoga class once a week, maybe running 1k every day to see your improvements.
Whatever your targets are; you are bound to see the difference & improvements by the end of lock down.
Also make the most of the time allowed outside and soak up that well needed vitamin D.
5. Break in a pair of shoes
My absolute favourite idea is this!
Wearing a new pair of shoes can make you feel so different. It can lift your spirits, change your outlook & bring you new positive vibes. So why not wear a new pair every day?
Not to mention now is the time to break them in ready for when you are allowed out. Comfy feet here you come!
6. Learn a language
Maybe you've had some travel plans cancelled? Be transported to another country by learning the mother tongue. Learning just a couple of phrases a day can be really beneficial. No need for the commute anymore so free up some time to practise those phrases.
