Henley Regatta

Henley Royal Regatta begins tomorrow!  

Founded in 1839, it is famous both as a great sporting occasion and as a social event which takes place Henley. People travel from all over the world to attend this event, either as competitors or as spectators. 

From the 28th of June to the 2nd of July, we’ll see different teams compete for prizes. 

The Events are gathered into different categories. At the top level there are six open events for men and six open events for women. At the intermediate level there are three events for men, catering for the best of the club and student crews. The next level offers five men's events for the majority of club and student oarsmen. Finally, there are two events for junior men and one event for junior women. 

Henley Regatta is the best-known regatta in the world. This famous race lasts 5 days which attracts thousands of visitors.  

Here is a quick recap of the dress code:

 For ladies : 
- no jeans, shorts, culottes, leggings or trousers
- formal daywear required (dresses and skirts must be not shorter than just above the knees for Steward's enclosure) 
- they encourage and appreciate the wearing of hats or fascinators 
- girls over 13 years of age should follow this code 

 For Gentlemen : 
- jackets must be worn at all time
- they encourage you to wear boaters or panama hats but this is not compulsory 
- boys over 13 years of age should follow this code.  

We just hope that it doesn’t rain in true British fashion!

Glastonbury Festival 2017

The famous Glastonbury Festival is set on a huge site offering a grand scale of entertainment compare to other festival of the world (Well done in the U.K)

This festival is over 5 days in Somerset, this year from 21st of June to 25th of June. You are assured the best time of your life with every kind of music on over 100 stages (Katty Perry, Ed Sheehan ...) along with lots of performances from cabaret, theaters, circus and children's entertainment to name a few. 

For your outfit, it is the perfect occasion to wear wellies of course and also Chelsea boots! 

This festival is truly worth a visit if you are lucky enough to get tickets! You also never know who you might meet….

Plus, Glastonbury festival is a great charitable donor in 2016, they gave more than 2 million to Greenpeace and hundreds of other worthy association local and international.

So grab your ticket and just have fun!

London Wine Week 2017

The famous London Wine Week is a fantastic seven days summer festival of wine across the city. A lot of pop-up bars and restaurants celebrate this event by serving a £5 delicious and "vintage" wine. 

To be part of this fabulous festival, you just need a ticket from £10. This event is a great and cool opportunity to participate in wine tasting without hitting your bank balance, and of course discover bars and meet new friends ! 

This festival has also created a wine scene called the DrinkUp : The Wine Edit where you can sip on some of the finest wine coming from all around the world. When tasting these wines, you can escape from London just for few hours and to travel to France, Europe, Australia and everywhere else !

This event runs during 1 week - from June 5th to June 11th. 

So for wine lovers, it is time to grab your ticket and to enjoy this wine scene with friends and family.

Royal ascot 2017

Royal Ascot is Britain's most famous race meeting, attracting any of the world 's finest racehorses. Royal Ascot is a spectacle of fashion and style from all around the World. 
Here is the dress code style for the 3 different enclosures :

1. THE ROYAL ENCLOSURE
 

For Gentlemen : - black or grey morning dress 
                                     - a waistcoat and tie, 
                                     - a black or grey top hat
                                     -  black shoes 

For Ladies : - Dresses and skirts falling just above the knee or longer.
                           - Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater.
                           - Jackets and pashminas may be worn but dresses and tops 
                           underneath still comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code.                                                
                           - Trouser suits are welcome : full length and of matching material and 
                            colour. 
                           - Jumpsuits are welcome : full length with regulations matching that for  
                           dresses.
                           - Hats should be worn : a headpiece which has a solid base of 4 inches 
                           (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable

 

2. QUEEN ANNE ENCLOSURE AND VILLAGE ENCLOSURE
 
For gentlemen : it is required to wear a matching suit with a shirt and tie 
 
For ladies : - a hat, headpiece or fascinator should be worn at all times
                           - strapless or sheer strap dresses and tops are not permitted however  
                           off-the-shoulder dresses are permitted
                           - trousers and jumpsuits must be full length and trousers must be worn 
                           with a top that adheres to the guidelines above
                          - midriffs must be covered
                          - shorts are not allowed 
 
3. WINDSOR ENCLOSURE : No formal dress code, just wear smart clothes 
This big horse race runs during five days (from 20th to 24th of June 2017) which are made for socialising. Tickets are already available!

Brick Lane

Welcome to the most famous Indian district in London at Aldgate Est Station. Brick Lane is known for its diversity and its art. Let’s do a tourism tour briefly. 
First, when you enter Brick Lane you immediately see a lot of street art, graffiti, amazing and creative tags on the wall. This will put you in a little festive atmosphere around Indians shops and food! 
And then when you move forward, you instantly smell all the delicious food you’ve been dreaming about. You have finally reached the food market, where there’s an abundance of food selections, you’re in awe and can’t even believe your eyes. Your natural reaction: eat them all, which is technically impossible. After taking a seat and devouring all the food you can, you can take a  stroll and shop through the most famous vintage clothing market. At this market, you inhale the “vintage smell” of the clothing, and discover several unique styles and tresures from the 80’s. Also, if you want to remember this place and capture the moment, you can even take vintage photos in their photo booth.
